Lawsons Group [Lawsons Whetstone Ltd] is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Cope as an Independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.  

Andrew brings considerable experience to the role having served for twenty years as Managing Director of Chandlers Building Supplies, an established family owned and managed business of eight branches located across the South and East of England.  Most recently Andrew spent six years with Independent Builders Merchant Group, serving as their CEO before assuming a part time role leading their acquisitions and strategic development activity.  Andrew has previously served as the Chair of the buying group Fortis.

Established in 1921, Lawsons has grown to the largest independent supplier of timber, building materials and fencing in London and the South East serving a market of over 10,000 square miles. Over the course of a century the Group has built an enviable reputation for quality materials and outstanding service whilst retaining the values and ethics of the Lawsons Family.

Today, the Lawsons Group operates thirty‑five branches under seven brands, employs more than 700 people, and includes a dedicated steel fabrication plant.
