AFI Best Practice Day 2023

AFI Best Practice Day 2023

After the success of the 2022 best practice day, the AFI is once again bringing this popular event for summer 2023. In conjunction with Tornado Wire, the free best practice on Wednesday 24th May 2023 will give guidance on techniques and plenty of chance to ask questions of the experts!

Tornado will host the day at their manufacturing plant in Millom, Cumbria. The Factory to Field theme will allow attendees to understand the important features of fence manufacturing and see demonstrations and have discussions on best practice techniques for strained fence installation.

This free-to-attend event must be registered in advance, REGISTER with this link to confirm your place.

The day starts with an opportunity to network with fellow fencing contractors with a kick-off introduction at 10:30am from Peter Hogg, CEO of Tornado Wire and Pete Clark, CEO of the AFI.

The Best Practice day programme includes:

  • BEST PRACTICE INSTALLATION – Some of the UK’s top agricultural fencers will be demonstrating strained wire fencing to British Standard 1722-2, which is DEFRA grant specification compliant. This will include erecting strainers, strutting techniques, turners and wire work and how to adapt techniques to different conditions.
  • PRE-SITEWORKS CHECKS – AFI will be promoting the importance of pre-site works checks for utilities and services, with experts in attendance.
  • FENCE MANUFACTURING – The Tornado team will show attendees the end-to-end manufacturing process and key quality features of different fence types.

Numbers will be limited so book your place now to receive a booking confirmation and details for the day.
