At the AFI we’re continuing to work on delivering a fencing apprenticeship and have submitted a funding review. If this is successful the increase funding will make the apprenticeship financially viable for training providers to run it and mean we can start to encourage more young people in the industry.
Unfortunately, as a result of the latest further education white paper, the Skills for Jobs: Lifelong Learning for Opportunity and Growth, the review team now have a backlog of application. We were expecting an outcome to our review request at the end of February but this will now be delayed by 4-8 weeks. We’ll keep you updated as we find out more.
