The UK Fencing Awards 2023 is gaining momentum and with so many excellent entries coming in we’ll be taking you through who our sponsors are this year. We’ve got nine excellent companies committing support to the fencing industry and the skilled contractors we have.

Contractor of the Year: Temporary and hoarding – Blok ‘N’ Mesh

CEO Simon Worsley explains, “Blok ‘N’ Mesh is proud to be sponsoring the Contractor of the Year (Temporary and hoarding) at the 2023 UK Fencing Industry Awards organised by our friends at the Association of Fencing Industries.”

“Every year we see a huge range of temporary fencing and hoarding projects completed, in a variety of creative ways, providing a wide range of solutions to site security and safety. It is exciting to be celebrating excellence and innovation among contractors in our industry alongside the values of the AFI incorporating safety, quality, and professionalism.”

With over 30 offices and depots in the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe, Blok ‘N’ Mesh is a market-leading manufacturer, supplier and installer of temporary fencing, site hoarding and barriers. Every year it manufactures more than 1.6 million units, leading the industry in both innovation and sustainability to suit a wide range of industries, from construction to security.

Blok ‘N’ Mesh has achieved an enviable reputation from humble beginnings as manufacturers of mesh fencing in Knowsley, Merseyside. As the business grew, a nationwide depot network was established along with additional factories in the UK, Ireland, and France.

The range of products too expanded to incorporate a full range of temporary fencing, barriers, hoarding systems, and accessories including the ultra-high security police and military PolMil® fencing system developed for the 2012 London Olympics which went on to receive a Queen’s Award for Innovation.

Sustainability is at the heart of Blok ‘N’ Mesh as it champions re-use and in-house recycling along with the development of low carbon alternatives to traditional materials.

We would like to propose joint judges for this category.

Tim Stewart our Design and Innovation Director and John Tonge, our UK & Ireland Installations Manager.

Both Tim and John has a wealth of experience in temporary system design and installation, with John managing our entire installation function across the UK & Ireland.

Tim has been with Blok ‘N’ Mesh for over 30 years and has been instrumental in the design and implementation of a variety of our most successful temporary fencing systems, notably our POLMIL range which we have successfully deployed at various Olympic Games since 2012.

John has been with Blok ‘N’ Mesh for nearly 15 years and has been a key part in the companies operational success from National operational management roles to his now role as Installations Manager for UK & Ireland.
