Wendy Anne Baker

Wendy Anne Baker

The Association is sad to announce the death of Wendy Baker who has been a leading light in the fencing industry for over 40 years and we send our condolences to her family and friends.

Wendy was a director of Baker Fencing Ltd but is perhaps better known as the lady who ran our the AFI’s parent organisation, The Fencing Contractors Association from 1998 until her retirement in 2015.

Wendy is a great loss to all of us but most importantly to her husband Dave, her children and grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Our thoughts are with them.

Wendy’s funeral will take place on Monday 23rd of January at the Forest of Dean crematorium, Yew Tree Brake, Speech House Road, near Cinderford, GL14 3HU. Please arrive at 12:40 for a 12:45 prompt start.

After the ceremony Wendy’s family invite you to the Carpenters Arms, on the B4293, Llanishen, NP16 6QH.

Wendy was very clear that she wouldn’t want the occasion to be sad so please no black clothing, wear something bright (sparkly even!) – just like her. There will be family flowers only. Should you wish to make a donation in her name (and please don’t feel obligated to) her chosen charity would be Marie Curie Cancer Care.

RIP Wendy. You’ll be greatly missed.
